Announcing the Efekta Advisory Board
Building companies has taught me one uncomfortable truth: if you don’t know your blind spots, they will find you quickly.
Over the last year, Lee Schuneman and I worked to build an advisory board for Efekta.
Before we picked names, we asked a harder question: Where are we weak?
Two answers were obvious.
- We don’t think like politicians. We understand education. We understand technology. But none of us has ever had to answer to an electorate.
- The AI frontier is moving faster than any one company. If you’re not ahead of it, you’re exposed to it.
So we decided to fill those gaps with people who have actually lived them.
Today, I’m proud to officially announce the Efekta Advisory Board:
Policy & Government
- José Manuel Barroso — Former President of the European Commission, Former Prime Minister of Portugal.
- Sir Nick Clegg — Former Deputy Prime Minister of the UK. Former President, Global Affairs, Meta.
- Mari Kiviniemi — Former Prime Minister of Finland. Former Deputy Secretary General, OECD.
AI & Technical Leadership
- Deepak Agarwal — Head of AI, LinkedIn.
- Phil Waymouth — Former AI Technical Advisor, Microsoft.
This isn’t about prestige (albeit these guys certainly bring it 😅!) It’s about pressure-testing our assumptions.
Because the companies that win are the ones that close their blind spots fastest.
